Who this policy covers

Nebula Contractors Pty Ltd (“Nebula Elec”, “we”, “us”) is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website at www.nebulaelec.au.

It does not cover information you give us in person, by phone, or through a third-party job board. It does not cover other websites we link to.

What we collect

We only collect personal information you choose to give us. Specifically:

Enquiry form

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your company, the enquiry type and your message, where you provide them.

Job applications and expressions of interest

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • The role you applied for, or the area of work you are interested in.
  • Anything you write in the message field.
  • Your CV, and any other document you attach.

Automatically

Our analytics records the page visited, the referring site, the country, and the general device type. It does not record your IP address, does not set cookies, and cannot identify you. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.

We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it, and we ask that you do not send it to us through this website.

How we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, to quote or deliver work.
  • To assess your application for a role, now or for a future opening.
  • To understand which pages are used, in aggregate.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not send marketing email from this website.

Job applications and CVs

Recruitment information is handled differently from a general enquiry, and it is worth being specific about it.

When you apply for a role or register your interest, your details and your CV are passed straight through to JobAdder, the recruitment system Nebula uses. They are not written to this website’s server, are not saved to a database, and are not emailed to anyone. JobAdder is the system of record for candidate information, and its own privacy terms apply to what is held there.

Nebula’s JobAdder account is hosted in Australia. A curriculum vitae is personal information under the Privacy Act, and this arrangement is deliberate: it keeps that obligation with the recruitment system rather than spreading copies across a web server and inboxes.

TO CONFIRM: how long candidate records are kept in JobAdder, and whether unsuccessful applicants are retained for future roles and for how long.

Analytics and cookies

This website sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or social media trackers. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and collects no personal information, so no consent banner is needed and there is nothing to opt out of.

Your browser may store small technical items needed for the site to work, such as remembering that you have opened the menu. These are not used to track you.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the providers that make the website work:

  • JobAdder: recruitment records, for applications and expressions of interest.
  • Our hosting provider: serves the website and keeps standard server logs.
  • Our email provider: delivers enquiry notifications to Nebula.
  • Plausible Analytics: aggregate page statistics, with no personal information.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We do not disclose personal information to anyone else without your consent.

TO CONFIRM: the hosting and email providers to be named once hosting is decided, and whether any of them store data outside Australia.

Security and retention

The website is served over an encrypted connection, and information submitted through it is transmitted encrypted. Access to Nebula’s recruitment system and mailboxes is limited to the people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet. We hold personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was given, or for as long as the law requires.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to enquiries@nebulaelec.au and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify who you are first.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, tell us and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

TO CONFIRM: the response time Nebula wants to commit to, and whether a dedicated privacy contact address should be used instead of the general enquiries mailbox.
